I am an introvert and love being alone. Not because of my anxiety, just in general.
So as someone who doesn’t really need to hang out with people, it shocked me how much I felt that I needed other people with my anxiety problems.
No-one understands anxiety. I found that I needed support, but could not get what I needed as no-one understands. They try so hard to support, but anxiety is a beast!
So I went to Google. I read and I read, and I realised, there are a lot of us out there. I am normal!
I then went to Facebook. I joined some groups, and sometimes it helped but mainly it didn’t. When you have anxiety, it helps to read what you have, but then when you read other symptoms, that’s terrifying! The health anxiety kicks in like crazy.
So I left the Facebook groups and I created Power of Anxiety Instagram and Facebook pages. I wanted to create a space where we can all be in this together but in a positive, reassuring way!
