It is ok not to be fine

Every day will not be a good day. Life is a cycle of the good, the bad and all other things in between.

It is human nature to beat ourselves up when we do not have a good day or do not get much done. When we feel like we have not achieved anything.

But there will be days like this. Some days we will not get much done for a whole range of reasons.

We have to learn to accept that this is ok.

Then there will be the days that the anxiety absolutely cripples us, making it impossible to get stuff done.

And that too, is ok.

We spend so much of our time waiting to be fine, wishing for perfection. But its perfectly fine to not be fine right now, give yourself a break.

When one of these days comes, and one absolute in life is that these days do come, do something that makes you smile!

Whether you have time to just do one small thing for yourself or have the time to throw a full on pity party, just make sure to log the emotions.

If you have had a really stressful day at work and you decide to take a long bath, and then that night you have a great sleep, log that so that you remember that that made you relaxed. However, if after a bad day, you took a relaxing bath and could not relax as your mind ran away with you in the silence and went over all the stress again, then log that on those days maybe activities that are quiet are not the best for you.

The most important thing is to accept the bad days, and try things out to make yourself feel better. One solution absolutely does not fit all, and you have to learn about how you deal with your anxiety.

The best way to get control back on these bad days is to track your emotions and what helps you. That way, you have the strongest defence against these days, as you know yourself.

All emotions, including anxiety, are our bodies way of communicating with us. Take note of what it is telling you with a good journal, like the Ups and Downs: A Journal for Good and Not-So-Good Days

You can also get these journals on kindle, first one free! Sign up here:

Enjoy feeling your emotions. It won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it.
